Story about digged mysterious treasure - a new piece of history.

A couple of years I read an article about man who've buy a plot of land with house and old shed, where he found a great collection of vintage cars under the thick dust layer.

On this sunday I met with similar situation. :)

The young band of one moscow technical univer tried to search a rep-room and found a closed door in corridor at "University's House of Culture".

They ask to cleaning staff -- what is that door? Where the key? --- no reply, keys are missing. Then they ask a "HC" manager the same question --- he answered that he don't knew anything because he is a new here and gave them a box with numerous old keys. Fellows tried to open the mysterious old door and after some time they've took a win - door was opened. Then came a minute of silence --- guys opened their mouthes -- there were a wholes mountains of different old drums - EPOIMI, RMIF and ARTA, Leningrad's cymbals, some Tacton and AMATI drums...

I'm so sorry that all this is not mine... :(

I sent a message to fellows that they can move all to the little poor museum in park of rest which one of my old friend try to create with help of some sponsors.

WOW! What find! A gold mine of Russian/Eastern European drums. You really could start a small museum with the kits in that wonderful room. I love the wraps on them. There is one almost root-beer colored floor tom that I see along with a couple of drums that appear to have Premier style lugs on them.

Man, I could spend days in that room. You have to ask your friends if you can visit the "Treasure Room." For a drummer/drum lover, it'll be a visit to remember. You might even talk someone at the school into selling a kit or three - to raise money for the school...

Thanks for sharing the photos. It is every vintage drum lovers dream to find a room like that one.

Most of them can de brought back to a playing conditon! Can you get us some more pics? There seems to be a green wraped octoban in one of the floor toms in the first picture!

Try to stay in touch with the students. I`m sure they don`t have what to do with all that gear and they would give away or sell some of them if you are interested. There`s so much nice stuff in there!

Is it only me, or is there an ASBA bass drum head on the table in picture 3?

Wow!!! I'd love to rummage through a room like thatMind Blowi I once received a big box of old hand percussion instruments...very exciting, but nothing like this treasure vault!

im partial to the green kit

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
