Source for wood hoops?

Loading...

First off: thanks to all for the great advice I've gotten here. I'm about to start my first restoration project and have gotten great feedback from everyone. Much appreciated!

On to my question: can anyone recommend a source for wood hoops for toms and snares? The best price I've found so far is at Precision Drum Co., at $35 for a 12" hoop and upwards from there. And the claws are $2.25 each, which can add up when you're doing a whole kit.

Does anyone know of a more affordable source?

Thanks again.

That's the cheapest I've seen except for used.

I've never used these but am real interested...

On snare: I'm sure that for cross-stick latin would be good, but what do rim shots sound like?

I realize your post is almost two months old, but if your still looking for wooden hoops I just came across this business a couple of days ago. Don't know about prices, etc., but might be worth a look.
