I need the carriage bolt for the upper fitting of the rail mount...the part that holds the L arm... it's a strange size....

any idea who may have them??

Ludwig only used 3 thread size's on the bolt's and nut's..they were 5/8.5/16 threads and some were 1/4 threads...The bolt's were about 1 1/2" long....I have these old new in stock ....Mikey

the threaded portion is 1/4, with 20 thread pitch. The 'square' on the carriage bolt is 5/16s.

The thread pitch doesn't matter much to me; it has a chrome wing nut, but it's pretty beat up. I could easily use a regular nut, or different wing nut.

The Steve Maxwell mount has regular hex nuts, and they're good for tightening with a socket wrench. The wing nut isn't all that easy to use.
