I would actually like to encourage this arguement to continue if that is ok with the combatants. There have been five killer videos posted so far that were NOT JAZZ!!!

Again, please continue...and keep posting videos!!!

have a wonderful evening

I don't wish to get into the middle of this ... but ...

The drums for Pearl Jam's album TEN, from which "Jeremy" was taken were tracked by Dave Krusen. He played two different kits on that record.

The first kit was his own Tama Swingstar (22x16, 11x12, 13x14, 5x14 Ludwig Supraphonic snare).

He also used a borrowed Ludwig maple kit. 22x18, 11x12, 13x14 and a Noble & Cooley 5x14 maple snare.

DW's were nowhere to be seen during the tracking of that album.

The actual track "Jeremy" was the Ludwig kit.

In case you're curious, "Alive" was the Tama kit.

I think it's obvious you weren't suggesting that all of those videos had drummers playing DW. Just wanted to clear the water a bit.

Nah, I was just demonstrating that they ALL have "that sound" of the 90s. Compressed, cardboardy, and ready to rock!

1965 Ludwig Hollywood

Yup. Most all of those tracks were non-DW. Some interesting tunes. They brought back some memories. Most of them bad. Rough stuff. Good tunes, though.

Are those pics from the actual PJ tracking of Ten? If so..how the heck did you find them? I grew up SUPER into Pearl Jam and Dave Krusen's drumming on Ten/Dave Abbruzzese's drumming on VS/in the live arena. I still think PJ are a solid and respectable band of musicians. If you have followed them at all you know what I mean...just down to earth dudes that are super in love with what they do. They have my highest respect.

I saw them play live a handful of times, most recently opening for Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers a few years back. Talk about an AMAZING night! (TP is my favorite songwriter of all time). Eddie sang "The Waiting" with Tom and looked like a kid in a candy store while doing it! Check out the documentary "Running Down A Dream" for footage!

Anyway...just curious if those are the actual drums used on that record. I have a hard time listening to the songs off of "Ten" these days (mostly due to the early exaggerated vocal stylings of EV), but some of their records still do it for me in a serious way. VS, No Code, Yield...even some of the stuff of of their latest release still has some of that magic that I experienced playing along to "Ten" and "VS" on my (Dave Grohl inspired) Violet Blue Tama Rockstar DX in my bedroom as a teenager.

Cool Stuff!
