Sonor Teardrop Snare help please

Loading...

I just finished cleaning my sonor snare. I took it all apart and polished everything. It was a lot dirtier than I thought, but it came out fabulous. Upon all the I noticed a few threaded holes in the snare throw off and the snare butt. This snare hardware is a lot different than anything I have seen. I have no clue what it is supposed to include. I just reassembled it excatly like it was before. Can anyone shed any light on what is missing here?

Thanks Y'all

Not sure if anything is missing, but the snare string is supposed to go through the hole in the throwoff arm. This is how you release the snares.

The butt end (same as mine from later snare) does not have the lock nut cap on the threaded rod that mine has. This end is where you make the final adjustment on snare wire tension.

Hope that is clear, and helps.

As another suggestion. I have trouble with getting correct tension on my wires, so I put the string through the throwoff and used the snare wire end holes for the knotted end to adjust initial tension. I am also using a Rhythm Tech Active snare wire instead of the bare wire sets normally used. Not as much tension is necessary as the wires are pretensioned. It works well for me.

I just found the sonor hard ware on the drum hardware page. All mine is missing is a tiny screw that screws in the bottom of the butt adjuster. I really dont see what that screw does anyway.

I think it prevents the adjusting screw from falling out when not attached to a string. Keeps you from losing it.
