sonor snare drum from the 70's Last viewed: 3 hours ago
That is the same snare drum that came with my 1975 anniversary Phonic Kit. The original strainer on that D454 is one of my favorite strainers....Simple, smooth, and mechanically robust. I'm surprised that it was replaced. Maybe the original owner did what I did. I took the strainer off of that metal snare and used it on a custom Eames Master Model snare drum. It still works perfectly.
would anybody give me 70.00 for this drum?? im sure you guys could make this drum sing.
The problem is---it is always, such and such a price + shipping. It's probably a really good drum for the 70.00---way better than most of the stuff around at that price but shipping can be a killer. Have you tried Craig's or Kijiji-----or consigment at a music shop?
They only take 15% on consignment deals. I've sold a few drums that way. I just put 15% on top and in 2 months they were gone. What I found with odd drums was, to really polish them up, tune them up, provide a bit of history and enthusiastic details on a card and provide a key. This is especially important for slot heads( there are modern made slot keys available on ebay for 5.00). Did you fix the T-rod shortage? Get that done and put it in a shop for 120.00, with a key, on consignment.
i did get the rods .so i might just try that... no one here is interested i think.real solid drum.
