Yes, I have the actual tom in mint condition and complete. All the guys are going to do is cut it down, cut the beds, put the throw and wires on it, put her back together, and Bobs your uncle............I hope.

Hit like you mean it!!

OK...SO..If you had a 14x10 and knowing what you now know, would you go through the trouble and expense to create your own Phonic snare drum to match your kit??

The only way that I would ever consider doing something like this (and by this I mean a snare 6"-to-6.5" deep) would be if I already had the throw and butt, the lugs, and the hoops, and didn't want to spend what a wood-shell Phonic snare normally goes for.

I cannot fathom why the person who made this snare out of a tom chose it to make it four inches deep considering the size of the parts they evidently had to work with.

The Phonic 14x4 was metal, Phonics are best when used to Rock/Metal. Drops had a wood one but drops are six and three ply. Hard to get a pancake snare to crack. Every now and then a Rock number calls for a itty bitty metal snare.......

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

I suspect it's the leftovers after he's made a 14x6 snare, and he's chanced his arm with the results.
