Sonor Force 2000?

Loading...

I know these aren't true VINTAGE drums, but probably from the late 80's. Somebody has a Force 2000 kit (10,12,13,16,22, & snare) for sale. Problem is he removed the wrap and repainted all the drums but didn't get to the floor or snare. Should I waste my time on this? He wants $325 w/old hardware and some cheap cymbals (probably cost me a couple hundred for new wrap?) I'd have me a 9 ply German made Sonor kit though...Just looking for some opinions.

Yes you would have one, but if time is a factor then it`s a little high to pay for a complete wrap and restore kit as is. But if you don`t wanna wait for another opportunity and have a favorite wrap in mind, then talk him down a hundred and go for it.

Have you examined it ? Those are nice kits !! I think they`re Basswood !!

Cons: I think the drum hardware is ugly !!

Yeah, checked them out. The paint job wasn't bad, just incomplete and a bit ugly. Shells are good, hardware ok with some tlc. I thought the Force 2000's were some other kind of wood? I actually like the look of the long lugs on these kits and LOVE the Sonor kick drums (even the cheap ones!)

Don`t hold me to that yet, I just remember relateing basswood and Force, But it could be the earlier Force series !!

I don`t hate the look, just that they look too much like parade drums !! You can`t go wrong with any of the Sonor BD.

Sonor Force 2000 was only a German made 9 ply poplar.

There were other Force series drums, but only one Force 2000.

What Would You Do

Yep- RogerSling is right. Found some info on a Sonor site. Poplar 9ply, shells and hardware made in Germany.

No pictures. I'm sitting this one out. Not a fan of super deep toms...I'll give it a few days, if I can get them for $250ish I might grab 'em.

I could make a bop kit out of it though (10,13,16 bass)...DOH
