There is a site - Sonormuseum or something like that - I recommend asking them. It would be alot faster and more accurate than an answer you would get here. You could get the right info here, but it may take longer than the other site.

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

I had some MIT "fake" Sonors a while back, and they looked similar to those. I have never seen 7/8" pipe mounts on Sonor drums. But I am not a Sonor expert.

Looks like a hacked up Phonic kit with some custom veneer. Phonics are great drums just heavy!

I am also a Sonor Museum member and huge Sonor fan so ask away my friend. I have even been to the factory in Germany :)

hm...yes phonic or champion lugs maybe end 70s (?)

a drum shop guy said end 80s but i don't believe.

that tom construction (following pic) seems strange to me on a sonor set.

thanks for your help guys!

What I think you have there is late 80`s. The tom mounts, the BD mount and the interior finsh tell me SONOR International series. They were a low end kit designed to move. I don`t believe they have the Phonic Rod flat and ring washers. I`ve never seen them up close.

I think it`s been rewrapped. SONOR always badged their kits and those would have a Phonic like badge with grommet.

Look inside to see if you can find filled holes and a date stamp of three digits.

Look at the International series......
