Sonor Drums kit

Loading...

I am thinking of selling this rosewood sonor drum kit. I am not really a drummer just had in my studio for recording. As far as I can tell from the Sonor museum they look circa 1975 - 1979. Here are the details and serial numbers. Can I get an idea of the year and a estimated value from any of you experts, please?

Kick 24 x 16 #20975

Snare Rosewood 7 1/2 " deep #29047

Snare Chrome 8 1/2 " deep #68841

Floor Tom 18x 16 # 20685

Rack Tom 14x 10 # 20698

Rack Tom 13 x 9 #20566

Thank you :)

Nice old kit, but I think the sizes are way off. How did you measure these shells?..Sonor players will let you know, and how is it that you found this place, not being a drummer?

Hit like you mean it!!

I can see the wheels on the 13x9, but not the 14x10 (possible add on). I can`t see the Floor tom either (it should have wheels too). What I`d like is pics close but not too close so I can see all badges, lug details, mounts, and if you look inside for a 3 digit date stamp, it will allow me to give you accurate date/details. That configuration (18x14 Bass) did not have the 14.

So far I can see the D_506 or 505 (14x6 1/2) (14x5-1/2) And the D-500 (14x5)

You can take the heads off and measure from top to bottom, and the diameter

from side to side where the head is placed.. Hope that helps ! ;)

Cheers,

Rob

Those are not the wheels I was talking about. These are later drums but before 1980.

The first run of the Rosewood had fine tuning wheels on the batter and reso heads.

Look closely at the T-rods. Your don`t have them so they are later, look for three digit date stamp inside.

3 digit stamp inside the kick says 808.... Wait is this an 808 Kick?? haha

The 2 rack toms have what looks like 901 .... might be 106 since the 1 has no bottom, 901 is my best guess. A picture of the rack toms is hard since I am reluctant to remove the heads.

808 August 1978,....106 is out of the question, Phonics did not happen til 74-ish....... 901 January 1979. The first digit is the year of that decade, the second two are the month. SONOR changed badges after decades so it`s easy to know which decade you have.

Although you have different dates, SONOR stored shells so they assembled accordingly.

What is in the snare ?

Do not fear head removal, you have to do it from time to time. All metals are top quality heat treated, wont strip easy.

Take `em off.
