Sonor drum keys on parade

Loading...

Here are a group of Sonor keys. The two big ones are from parade drums, I think. The triangular one is from W.W. 2 era marching drums that were simply branded O.Link(at least the 2 that I have seen). The unplated one is pictured in an early 50's cataloged.

will do Rod. I also have a few of a smaller, but physically identical key that came with it, which are for a slightly oversize square head. i've not been able to verify if Sonor ever used such tension rods , so I didn't include them in the picture. i would sell one of those but as to whether they are Sonor would be pure speculation.

I believe that old clock keys also had triangular adjustment as well...From experience, when a key looks too ornate to be a drum key, it's probably an antique clock key...

I purchased a box of N.O.S. German drum parts about a year ago. All stuff from the 50's and earlier. Some of it was in a bag labelled Sonor and inside were 3 keys. The triangular one was one of them. The aforementioned square keys were not in the Sonor bag but resemble the triangular key in all ways but the shape. Another one of the keys in the bag was the large black iron one that kind of looks like a tap handle. The very same key is pictured in the 1952 Sonor catalogue.

Cool...I'm not doubting that they are of European decent...You definitely made a nice score there...I was just stating my own experience was all...No harm...
