I have these snare for almost 10 years.it was abused before came to me,abused a lot!Someone painted this turquoise wrap with black paint, probably because of wrap fading, but this,I don't know how to call him,did not sealed holes and a lot of paint sprayed inside the shell.(first pic).I send it inside with 320 send paper.I need advice what to do now?Should I leave beech interior just sanded or too paint it and with what? The last two pics are from D471 from net.Whit did Sonor in 60-ties put on the inside of the shell?

Thanks

My advice would be to leave it as it is right now, do not paint the inside of the shell. I have a similar Sonar snare in all original condition. The interior of the shell was not painted or finished in any way.

Great job on restoring the drum and preserving the original wrap!

IF they used anything, it likely would have been one coat of lacquer. Very nice, and good job of bringing it back to life as it should be.
