This is the add,
Sonor Bop Kit... I am Impressed.
.....76/#XK9207 Phonic Sound Machine D454/D-505 snares !i
I realize that this thread is old, but then, why open a new one when it's exactly the right one for me?
I recently bought the Sonor Bop in Galaxy Silver and I think it's really bang for the buck. I needed a small set for rehearsals, small gigs etc. and I tried several options, but the Sonor really does the trick. It's made of poplar, btw!
Although at first I tuned the toms "normal" for allround popmusic, I now have tuned them much higher and I must say that's a real eye-opener (ear-opener??? ;) )
They don't choke, but sound very precise with enough sustain and it makes playing them very easy on low volume. The bassdrum sounds low enough, also thanks to the extra 2" depth.
So it's very affordable, though I think you should get some decent drumheads on all drums, because the stock heads aren't that good.
I also put a S-Hoop on the snaredrum, wich was a big improvement, but I now use the set with a very old Premier 2000 snare! Still, the Sonor snare is really not bad!!!
So, I'm very happy and many musicians I play with are really surprised when they hear it!
One last thing. The bassdrum comes with a black fronthead. That's really ugly and so very 80s...... I changed it for a Sonor Vintage fronthead, the Fibreskyn wit the Sonor-logo. Sounds fine and looks fine!! :D

Just bought one of these kits, and I really like it!
I can't believe how good it sounds for a "budget " kit.
Like many kits, it sounds better after replacing the original heads, but even those sounded ok.
I have been playing mine for a few weeks now, and it is just as good as kits that cost a lot more.
