Sonor and Slingerland kits How far gone is too far?

Loading...

Hello again drum folks, I found these two badly hurting drum kits

The slings were stripped of wraps, sanded, stained, and polyed, then negelected for twenty five years ,

the Sonor tear drop kit is more original but equally hurting they have been stored together in a basement

I can buy them both as shown for three hundred dollars

I would on one hand hate to leave them behind but on the other as the title reads how far gone is too far ??? Kenwood

Time, patience, and a few bucks will bring them back to life, or at least breathing again. I hope you don't do what so many do and that's consider them worthless and give them away to some parts ***** who has no compassion for these fine drums.

I would take a chance on that. Chrome over brass Slingy worth $200.00 by itself.

Slingy's look to be early 70's. Also a rewrap for them.

Sonor bass. That looks like mold in the inside. can be taken care of if no rot threw.

Also I love the tear drops.

For what it's worth, I'd probably try to get him down a little... maybe offer him $200 and see what happens. But if that fails I would strongly consider $300 anyway...

The hardest parts to find on Teardrops is tom rims. Looks like those are there. Worth the $300. The Sonors are worth that by themselves. Go for it if you have the time to work on them.

Those look pretty nice for 3 bills. You can easily sell 1 off to help pay for them. And keep the one that interests you the most. Or fix up and keep them both. :D Hurry~!

As usual though, I'm sure they look worse in person than they do in the photos.

And seeing those nice chrome lugs on gravel makes me want to go chew on some tinfoil. Laughing H
