Sonor 3000 older

Loading...

My first post. I'm from the Toronto area Canada. I just found a sonor 3000 at a pawn shop on the Scandinavian birch finish. 5 piece matching. End of it all, shells will cost me about $250 USD.

ANY SUGGESTIONS? What heads, ect.

Wanna learn about these. What year were they from? Min'e like this one.

I was so pumped up that I didn't even do a thing. I just tuned them, set them up and played them. Amazing. I went from a super nice rydeen Yamaha set 18, 13, 10 to this sonor Scandinavian birch (such a geiegeous finish) 12, 13, 16, 22.

Te snare metal strands don't cause very much "snare" effect even when tightly set. Any advice?

What about cleaning the wood?

I put clear heads on the toms. Double ply coated on the snare. Thing sounds like thunder.

I did the crome hardware with nevr-dull refurbish wadding. Amazing stuff. Lemon oil on the wood. Absolutely gerogeous.

Picks soon.

I got the whole set for $600CND AND SOLD THE CYMBALS AND STANDS for $150. I then got $35 for the snare stand and the kick pedal will go for $40. So for $375CND I'm confident that u gr the deal of the year.

The drums sound amazing. Really. The snare sounds deep though. Could e my tuning.

What do you all think of the moon gel? They've made a sick difference especially on the snare and f Tom. It helped with the ttoms as well but these didnt need too much anyway. I put two on the F Tom and one or two depending on desired effect on the snare.

Is there any way of knowing the exact age or range of years this kit could have been made in?

Yes, Look for the date stamp inside the drums. When you find it I`ll show you how to read it.

Example: 407 would be July 1994. First digit will be the year of that decade, the second digits will be the month of that year.

If a series runs into another decade, like Phonics, there would be a trim or badge change.
