The seller, Gerry, is a great guy with a hecka sense of humor and he sells very cool stuff, too...

BUT...did this go into the bid-war stratosphere...or is this snare really WORTH THAT MUCH ????

(there's no "jaw-drop" smilie here, or you bet I would be using it...)

Nope...

The early ones with the keystone badge usually sell in the $300 - $500 range. I had one at one point and traded it for a Ludwig bongo standCooked Egg

Although someone engraved a serial number and a school name on the shell.

This is one lucky seller!

I couldn't believe that, I have one in my possession. Mine still has the Ludalloy sticker on the inside too. Looks like I may have to sell it if they are going for that much.

Pretty low feedback totals on the bidders... that could spell trouble for the seller.

I always get nervous when I see those low numbers and a bunch of bids flying around.

A shill, a misunderstanding, a password that got compromised...

I hope it works out to everyone's satisfaction.

Not a Guru... just interested..

Speaking of snares, I want to buy a Supra. Brass or Ludalloy? 5 0r 6.5?

I think I've been bidding against those guys lately... problem is, I'm not nearly as "prepared" as they are...ViolinViolin

Hmm..... a Ludwig pancake worth over $1000, propobably not. Q much nice piccolo IMHO is the old downbeat snare.

Here's a nice one that's more affordable...

13X3.5 Ludwig Monroe ,date stamped 0012 (dec. 2000) Already vintage in some people's minds Cool Dude This little gem came with Ludwigs "traveller" set and is worth maybe ??

I believe that is a birch snare, from the looks of the badge. I have a similar snare that is maple that I stole for $125.00 shipped with a case a few months ago.....
