Imperial and Lefima too seemed to get run out of the kitdrum market. The response was , rather than foldup shop, like Tromsa( Tromsa also may have been vulnerable to factors brought into play by reunification), they have focused on the marching and parade market. There seems to be a fairly healthy need for traditional wooden hooped, even rope tuned parade drums in parts of Europe. The only place you see them in N.A. is in antique shops or used by reinactors . They also , of course make modern up to date parade drums as well as specialty drums but the market there is tight----Premier and Pearl dominate it and the Chinese are flooding it with inexpensive drums and gathering up those on a budget.
