So what do you guys think... Last viewed: 50 minutes ago

Same hole size & spacing as a clamshell? Good luck with that search!

My thoughts exactly. I mean you could leave the top hole empty if there is a strainer that fits the bottom horizontal spacing.

I say go for it.... but leave the clamshell off......

Find a black strainer and butt with a 2-hole horizontal pattern that matches the bottom two holes of the clammys.

You can get two black carriage bolts for the top holes.

Or do the adapter plate thing, as mentioned before.

Get black t-rods and washers too...... Remo black suede for the batter.

A B@R RK.......... cool !!

Gotta see pics of this when you are done.

Will do guys I plan on doing the lugs this weekend. I'll have to wait a little to order the black diecast hoops but that will give me time to find a strainer to fit that crazy hole pattern. Unless someone wants to make me a sweet adapter plate LoLoLoLo

If I didn't already have a few thousand things to do, I'd volunteer. At the very least, I can offer some 14" shell scrap to make an adapter out of. It's not that hard -- if you've got a drill and any skills whatsoever, you can do it.

I made an adapter plate for my own Slingy since it didn't have strainer, butt, or bridges when I got it. If you decide to make one, it should look more graceful than mine because you don't have to deal with the big ol' screw pattern for a three-point strainer & bridges.

I'm having trouble understanding why. Leave it alone and play it.

Well my thought process is to have something, half vintage, half modern all custom but without destroying the collectabilty. Hence the use of spare lugs, new rims and trying to figure out strainer ideas.
