Yes, there are no aftermarket wires available! Therein lies the problem! Puresound did offer them, but not any more. I've considered getting a Super Classic snare drum, but the lack of availability of the snare wires keeps me from getting one!

I've got 2 drums with the Classic strainer.

I was lucky to snag a few Puresounds while they were still available but...

I wanted more strands than 16 on the Puresounds, so I bought a generic 20 strand 15''

and simply put a screw through the slot usually used for a plastic strip.

You can also use a 14'' wire that takes a plastic strip and put a hole in the strip and mount, borrowed from forum member rillow64 and attached his picture.

I've not tried his idea, seems like maybe a bit to much bulk from the wires are left residing on the snare head.

Shawn, what is that butt? And those wires are each finely adjusted like super old school too?

BTW, somewhat related as I've been adapting different snares to my Super Classic drum, it seems a lot of my problem was just that I was cranking up my snare side way to much for the drum to 'sing' properly. I was inadvertently choking my drum! Just backed off the snare side head and the drum is way more to my liking but still not 100% Jazz Festival quality when they are the same shells/lugs but different strainers...

the butt is an odd super classic unit, as you can see 100% backwards from the usual one.

The correct unit is NLA but they were individually adjustable.

I was lucky enough to get one from bentleys drum shop in Fresno. Unfortunately it was their last one.

I would do an Internet search for drum shops and actually call them.

See if they still have a NOS one lying around or a left over pure sound.

See if they will mail it too you.

I paid $50 or so for mine. I know there has got to be a shop somewhere that would like to move $50 worth of merchandise even if they have to mail it.

Btw I belive its just called a super classic when it has eight lugs and the classic throw off. It SHOULD hold a higher place in the line up. I scoured my snare for $100 while jazz festival snares fetch $350-500.

Makes no sense to me, but I'm not complaining.
