Snare Straps On The Cheap

Loading...

Awhile back I ventured out to get some snare straps. I decided against the plastic ones, because I was tired of replacing them. I opted to buy a pack of four(I think) of the Tama ribbon type. I thought they would hold up better. In the end they have. I got home and my wife (MEGA crafter) informs me that I had just bought Gros Grain ribbon. She also informed me that you can buy a whole roll for under $5. I used up the Tama stuff and decided I would head out to the craft store. Sure enough! You can get a multitude of colors and designs for about $2.50 a roll. I bought a roll but haven't needed to use any. Maybe ill change out the Tama stuff to see if it is any different.

Cheaper snare straps: cut up an old drum head. You were going to throw it away anyways, right? I cut an old 12" tom head and got straps for several snares ready to go...
