This looks like a Taiwanese (MIT) drum to me. That strainer is very common on the 80s-90s student snares, and from the shot of the interior, that looks like the only strainer that has been on the drum. And yeah, the muffler adjustment knob looks like the Pearl design as well.

As to the maker, it is very likely from Pearl's farmed out factory, the ones that made CB700, etc. But those lugs aren't something I recall seeing before. Maybe someone else knows better.

Your snare drum could be made by Pearl under the name's like Burswood,Rock's,ete,ete.these names are from 2000 till now but you drum could also be from the 90's name's like Sunlite,C.M.C,or R.O.C. these and a list of other name's made these very low end lug snare's some with-out name's also....Mikey

This snare was included in a deal I transacted recently.60's Slingy "Club Dates"(I know that's the wrong name)painted with spray cans 9"X 12"and 14"X 20"gold sparkle- chocolate milk interiors with no badges,missing bottom rim/front rim and associated lugs/T-rods,this snare and an MIJ 14" floor tom.

What's the story with the MIJ floor tom?

I have a Sunlite snare with that style of lug, but they are regular lugs, not through-lugs.

Are the lugs on your snare plastic or metal Johnni?

Metal. But they are the same design. They are real lugs. What that looks like to me is a kids' beater, not a real attempt at a snare. I am thinking of letting go of my WMP soon. If you or anyone you know might be interested, it will, at the moment, be the 22-13-16, no snare as none came with it. They really are stunning in appearance, with only a handful of minor negs, like a cig burn soneone years ago tried to paint over, did a good job, actually. Other than that, I would have to get them out and go over each drum to remember anything glaring, which I don't think there is anything other than that I would consider a major flaw. Just the 16 is limited in range, unless I just don't know how to tune.

Yeah...it's not an expensive snare by any means, but, these single tension snares have a mystique about them I like for some reason...I also have a '54 Rogers classmate as well with the eagle badge....

As for your kit, I would be grateful to own a kit that you have restored Johnni, but at the moment I'm tapped out for space...Hopefully, someone else on the Forum would be interested...Is this the 3 ply kit? If so, this kit would make someone very happy....
