Snare heads for 13.5" diameter shell?

Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone out there knew of a certain type of drum head that will work on a slightly undersized 13 and five eights of an inch diameter snare. It's an old British made NOB snare from the 20's with calf heads, double flange hoops, 8 tube lugs and a very Leedy looking throw off. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for any help.

Hi Chromeo!

If you want to use a mylar head, it is my understanding that Remo will make one for you. Not sure how long these special orders take and how you go about ordering. Others may have more insight into this procedure. Good luck!

In the meantime, can you post pictures of the drum for all to see?

Thanks for this info. I wasn't aware of this. I can imagine it would be a bit pricey. If all else fails I'll have to check these custom order heads.

I've ordered a pile of used heads on eBay so maybe I'll get lucky and find something that fits the shell. I think the main problem is having a head that will sit inside the hoop of this drum. If it fits the hoop then it'll go on the drum. We'll see what happens. Let you know during the week and I'll also upload photos. You gotta see this snare. It looks like an old Leedy or Ludwig brass snare. Cool1
