Hi. First post here, but happy to join the fun. I have a very unusual Slingerland that seems to be from about 1953. I bought it from an estate and have never seen another or any reference in catalogs. My best guess is that it was an institutional drum for marching bands? ANY info would be appreciated. This drum has two rails on the back to which are mounted a marching drum brace. There is also a small key holder on the shell and it all looks factory done. And, of course, it has the original calfskin head and hoop both stating "Radio King"... Weird that a school-type drum would have a black-diamond covering and not be painted in school colors or something. Here's another pic.
