Slingy Aluminum Snare

Loading...

I've wanted one of these for awhile and recently found one at a local guitar shop. Missing a few pieces but the main stuff was there. I'd seen them on ebay for roughly $75 and that was what I paid. I was just looking on ebay and saw a 10 lug version go for over $500. WHy? Are the 10 lugs rare?

I'd like to see the auction where a Slingerland aluminum snare went for $500.

Even though it wasn't cataloged as a 10 lug drum, I've seen a bunch of them over the years...

There is a thread about this in the Ebay section or possibly the what is it worth section. I think we came to the conclusion that the seller was bidding on his own item to drive up the price. They sell for 75-150 all day long on ebay.

I'm pretty shocked. It is "rarer" in that is has the black / gold badge, and the later black / silver badged ones are more common.

I guess two folks really wanted it, so good for you and the buyer. I think if someone wanted one of those and was patient, they'd find one for less.

Rich, I Am Just As Suprised As You No The 60's Models Are Just As Plentiful As The 70's Models Are. In Fact My Slingerland Is The Exact Duplicate Of This One That Sold For $510.00 Except I Paid $410.00 Less. Man Go Figure, Someone Had A Woody For It!!!

Winning bidder has zero feedbacks.

One or two more came up for auction after that one sold, without the $465 opening bid price.
