Don't know much about Slingerlands, I'm not looking to buy it (my wife would kill me) but I was wondering if it's a good deal?

Looks good to me. That's a newer Ludwig badge though, isn't it?

Yeah, I'd be very tempted by that if it were close to me.

Sweet deal on the kit, especially since it includes the few stands, throne and pedal and of course the Ludwig snare. Cant really go wrong with an Oyster Pearl finish. Like KO, if I was closer I would jump on it.

No Guru - I just love collecting & learning about vintage drums!

Some of my favorites from the kits in the collection
58 WFL New Yorker Blue Sparkle
67 Ludwig Hollywood Red Psychedelic
69 Ludwig Standard Red Ruby Strata
70's Ludwig BOP "Ringo" Kit

A few of my favorite snares
20's Leedy Black Elite
51 Leedy & Ludwig Knob Tension
58 WFL Buddy Rich Classic Blue Sparkle
63 Walberg & Auge Sea Blue Agave Green Pearl
66 Leedy Shelly Manne Blue Agate Pearl

That is a really great deal. Hopefully someone here is close enough to take advantage of it.

I would just say to make sure you check out the bottom bearing edges. When a person turns double headed toms into concert toms (like shown in the photo), the exposed bearing edges can get pretty beat up over time without the protection of the rims and heads. I guess it doesn't matter as long as you intend to keep using the toms as concert toms. But if you plan to turn them back into double headed toms, you might find that tuning is a nightmare if those edges are indeed trashed. In any case, that's one caveat to consider.

If you do find yourself with this problem, a home made light table can point out where the leaks are, correcting them is another thing entirely, which I cannot profess to be an expert on.
