Slingerland Yellow Tiger on the cheap???

Thought this was worth documenting.

I was considering picking this one up and having those slick boys make up a sheet of wrap for a 14 inch floor to match. Thought it would be a fun kit. If that turned out to be too cost prohibitive, then I was going to do another Rainbow Love jazzer with a Yellow Tiger bass, a Red Tiger floor, and a Blue Agate tom.

Anyway, I put in the first ebay bid yesterday. I was outbid in the last couple of hours today. My wife wanted me to keep going, but I decided to let it go. I decided to keep searching for that very very clean and complete Slingy jazzer.

I found it interesting that no one else bid.

Anyone have an opinion on why this very rare Slingy pairing would have gone so cheap? The final price was 260 plus about 40 in shipping. That just seems ridiculously low for these two drums. They aren't perfect, but could very easily be put back into shape. The most valuable piece is the wrap and that is in very good shape. Just wanted some of you to weigh in on this very odd turn in the Slingy sales. I remember Rich K selling a very sweet kit with matching snare for well over three grand. What gives? Why did this go so cheap?

I'm a little confused on this one as well, someone got a good deal. The fact that they are the stage band config might have something to do with it, I bet there are a lot less matching FTs with the center lugs. Quite a few missing parts, but like you said, the wrap is where the value is with this one. The auction wasn't the greatest presentation, though I have seen much worse. A few extra pictures might have gotten it more interest. I still think someone got a heck of a deal on some rare drums.
