Slingerland WMP Project

Loading...

I recently finshed a early 70's Slingerland kit and wanted to share pictures of the completed kit. I found the kit locally in decent shape but it needed a complete replacement Setomatic tom system, Zoomatic strainer knob, and a muffler. I found the parts on Ebay, polished the shells with Novus plastic polish, cleaned the chrome, repainted the bass drumm hoops, and installed new heads. The kit is 100% complete with period correct parts, no extra holes. Plenty of work, but worth the effort. The first picture is the kit before I brought it home.

Beautiful work... man those are gleeming WMP!! Feels good to sit back and admire for awhile before giving them a good test run!

Make sure to get a shot up in the gallery.

Not a Guru... just interested..

That is one kick a$$ drum kit. I don't know if its the lighting in your room but did that finish fade to a cream color? I dig it. Just when I thought I was through wanting another kit!!!!!

Lucky,

Yes the drums have faded to a cream color. Here are pictures of the shells without hardware to compare.

Yes, it is a Buddy Rich kit 80N in the catalog. The kit has the 2 factory

cymbal arm mounts, but only one floor tom came with my kit.

That is a very sweet kit. I recently purchased an 80N kit, also. Mine is Mahogany. My hardware did not turn out as nice as yours. Good job! Now, how does it sound? I have not finished mine, so I still don't know. It's driving me up the wall. I've got two kits I'm working on and I really want to hear them. Patience is a virtue...unless you're a drummer! Then it's just a pain.
