Slingerland Spirit

Hi All!

I wonder if anyone could confirm if these Spirit series drums are truly from the 80s? Or would they be from late 90s early 2000s from Gibson era? They are currently on eBay. I've never seen this badge. I am almost certain these were made in Taiwan? Definitely not in Niles, IL. They claim they are 5 ply. Does anyone have any info on these particular Spirit drums? I have a late 70s 5 ply Slingerland set and I think they sound real nice! Any thoughts? How tough would it be to find the matching hardware that goes with these? They are shells and badge only! Thanks for any help you could give!!

My guess is early 90's on those Spirits. My advise is to pass on these. Hold out for genuine Niles era drums which can still be bought quite reasonably. If you really want some Spirits buy them complete and in top condition, they are available cheap.

From the 80's.

A cheapie stencil kit made overseas.

I think these were only known for Green Day's drummer playing them.

Thank for the input. I kinda felt the same way. I have a few older sets from Niles. I'm getting bored i guess, so I had an interest. I don't have an interest now lol.

Thanks again

When Tre Cool could finally afford good drums ,he went DW and is an avid Ludwig vintage junkie.

One of the guys at Starving Musician in Santa Clara knows him and said he loves Ludwig.

When you're poor and have an attitude,it's whatever you can get.
