Slingerland sound

Loading...

Hello I'm a Newbie to this site,

I have a question for you. I have my Dads 68' Slinerland. I'm in the process of restoring them. he's had the bottom head off pretty much form day one.

I'm going to put bottom head on.

The question I have is I'm going to record with them. Is it better to put the heads on before or after the recording. The style of music is that 60's 70's spy lounge. I want to get the most authentic sound I can.

Thanks,

Zendaddy

So, the question being...did bands playing in spy lounges in the '60's-70's use drums with concert toms or with standard double-sided ones ?

:confused:Walking

I would say that the single-sided tom will produce a flatter sound for you, less resonance, a much faster decay in the sound..while the double sided will not do that. Double is more resonant, fuller, moodier, darker sounding...
