Were the Slingerland Sound King drumkits manufactured with only one badge for the whole kit? And did Slingerland always sell complete drumkits including snare?
Got a Sound King WMP kit without snare from 1965 with only one badge for the whole kit on the bassdrum.

Yes, badges on toms did not start until the 60's.
Most sets were purchased from music stores and they were probably all on display with the snare drums.
Anyone could order pretty much anything they wanted, but I would think most sets came with snare drums.
The person buying the drums would probably in some cases not want the snare drum. I have purchased sets without the snare drum.
Your set probably had the snare drum. It is a common practice for people to keep the snare and sell the set when buying and selling drums.
