1960's (maybe '66) Slingerland Artist snare. 6.5"x14" red sparkle wrap finish. Needs cleaned but other than that it seems to be in decent shape.
Any idea what it would be worth, or what I should offer? Ebay wasn't much help.

Is it a solid shell? Also 6.5" is not to common. I think start low with your offer, remember you can always go up.
Based on what I have read it is either solid shell or 3 ply. I did email about the depth, as I could be mistaken. Let's say it is the 3 ply and only 5.5" deep, what would be a good starting price?
I guess that depends on who you are getting it from. Is it someone who knows about drums or somebody who has it and just wants to get rid of it? Offer $50.00. If you feel guilty about going that low then offer $100.00. Theres nothing wrong with getting a good deal!!!
Are these popular snares? Is it worth anything, or is it just another $100-300 snare?
They are nice 3ply woody snares. Great feel. They are WONDERFUL 1ply snares. Excellent sound. Depends on which you are talking about. You can't really go wrong with one of these. Watch the throwoff. Make sure it works. And check the snare bed and edges.
