I have seen a very few solid shell snares with date stamps, always very early '59. The font has been the same on them all, so unlikely someone has stamped their own.

Yes allandwf, there have been a few reports of date stamps on late 50's solid shells. However, the 'no date stamp on solid shells' rule holds up very well for the 60's.
