Slingerland set cymbals

Loading...

Really green newbie here (a bass player)

What kind of cymbals came with Slingerland sets circa 1948?. The ones I have with this set have no makers mark on them.

Cymbals did not automatically come with the drums. They had to be purchased separately.

But drum co. catalogs often offered 'stock' cymbals with their sets. Are you positive there is no stamp on 'em anyhwere ? Look for one - it may be tiny. Also can you post a photo ?

Okay, the largest is 15 1/2" diameter and has the Zildjian logo.

Looks like turkish(?) characters on top, below that is AVEDIS. Below that is 'ZILDJIAN CO. , GENUINE TURKISH CYMBALS, MADE IN USA'

It has what looks like loose rivets in four spots evenly spaced around the perimeter about 1 1/8" in from the outside edge.

There are two 13 3/8" diameter that have the same logo but no rivets.

One 11 1/8" diameter and one 11" diameter with the same logo.

The last may not even be part of the set but its 11" in diameter and is very thin. I can flex it with my fingers. Instead of a stamping it looks like it has an ink stamp logo that is round, about an inch in diameter and has lettering I can't make out.

Also there are three cowbells with the set, any ideas on how to identify the manufacturer?

Thanks much for the help.

From Sparky1964

So what is it?

If it has no actual trademark, then its an Ajaha. These were Italian made cymbals, and that ink stamp says: "Made in Italy".
