Slingerland screws

Loading...

I am cleaning up a 70 something Buddy Rich outfit and as I was getting ready to take off the hardware I noticed all of the mounting screws that hold on the lugs used a 1/4 nutdriver, and had some longer screws with washer stack under the head to make up for the length. These screws look nothing like the screws found on the 60's stuff. Did they quit using the 5/16 head slotted screw in the early 70's? I cannot imagine somebody changing all of the screws but I dont know.

Yes by 1970 on Slingerland stop using the slotted headed screws and when to the 1/4 head..The longer screws would be for the 6 ply shells, shorter screws are for 3 ply shells...Mikey

Thanks Mikey777, I knew someone would know. I thought they may have been original because the witness mark on the shell was from the smaller washers. The 60's stuff had alot bigger washer. This will save me alot of trouble digging for the right ones. The kit is in black wich kinda ruins it for me, I would like it in WMP, but I still want it right.
