Slingerland Scout Parade Drum 1936-ish

I bought a juvenile parade drum recently. I saw a picture of it in the 1936 catalog on this site.

It is missing it's throw off stuff. The picture isn't quite large enough for me to see how it attaches. The only part left is 2 little eyelids on the side where the throw would attach. There is no butt end side, and no holes showing that there would ever be one.

I will upload pics tomorrow or so. But does anyone own one of these?

Many Jr. drums do not have a butt bracket because the gut strings were looped through a piece of leather or stiff fiber & merely "caught" between the hoop & shell. It is difficult to see in the 1936 catalog, but it looks like a type of strainer that merely tightens the gut strings, & does not throw off. If you go back to the catalog, & look to the left of your drum on the parts page , you can get a slightly better picture of the strainer.
