Slingerland Ribbed Aluminum Shell Snare Questions Last viewed: 8 hours ago

So, that means mine will have a nice pop minus two! Laughing H

What heads do you have on yours. I think I actually have a couple of Slingerland snare heads sitting in a storage box in the closet...not sure how good they are at this point. As long as its fun to play, I'm okay with it. I don't want to take out my Superstar snares as they are pretty rare and in super mint condition. They have a totally different sound, 6 1/2 x 14 and 6 or 8 ply shell (forgot, been a long time) and I've gotten used to the sound from the Dyna.

I've got a Remo Coated Amb topside and a Ludwig Weathermaster snare side of all things. A $9.00 set of Duplex Snappy snare wires. Tuned medium or so all around with the tone control slightly engaged.

She doesn't sound anything like my Dynas, to be sure, but respectable in it's own way.

I can't remember what I have on mine....bad back is making it difficult to empty my closet to get to the drum and drum parts...I'll get there eventually!

I don't think I have the original Slingy snares on mine either, but will check and see....

How's that for definitive answers!!! :)

An aluminum snare shouldn't ever sound as good as a Dyna...love the Dyna, but afraid one of the kids will dent or scratch it. :(

Will post pics of my Tama Superstar snares...they're beautiful, stored and covered to protect them...great deep, rich sound.
