Slingerland Reproduction Factory Grommets and Installation Tool

Loading...

Hey Fellow Vintage Drum Enthusiasts,

I want to share some great news. I purchased the Slingerland reproduction factory grommets and installation tool and I’ve had great results with this. In fact, this tool and grommets provided produce factory results, inside and out. If you’ve put a lot of care into restoring the finish on your vintage Slingerland kit, and care about obtaining that factory appearance for the grommets, look no further. I’ve done almost a dozen already and every one came out PERFECT. Each takes less than a minute, and that's while taking my time and following every detail in the stated instructions.

Life just got a whole lot better. Thank you bdamc.

Here is my 16x18 floor tom... finally complete! I'll post pictures of the full set soon.

Excellent results, the right tools make the difference. I laugh at the home made tools !! Sure they will do the job, But they will never Ever!! make it look like a real tool designed to do the job will.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

I recently received an email from a drumming friend of mine, who informed me that he and a friend had finally completed all the R&D on these tools and grommets and put them up for sale on eBay. He asked if I'd be kind enough to spread the word and it appears that one of our forum members has already purchased and tried it, with excellent factory-like results!

Our forum members have gone the rounds with inexpensive tools vs the more expensive tools. I've always been of the thought that you need to right tool for the job. This has become even more apparent when you are installing these Slingerland-style aluminum grommets.

While the price may seem steep to some, please bear in mind the amount of R&D that has actually gone into not only producing the tool and how it properly rolls over the inside of the grommet, but to the actual grommet itself. My friend tells me that their grommets are actually better than those offered by another company (I won't name names!) and that the price also includes 5 grommets! Let's just say purchasing 5 grommets from the "other" company will set you back $40, which includes shipping! Based on that, the price for this new, and better, tool will only cost $65, including 5 grommets.

I hope many of you will consider this tool. Thanks everyone!

Hi Mark,

Not sure if I should ask here or through eBay.

Tool looks great and no problem with the price. I do need brass grommets to secure large badge Slingy's. This is on drums that were wrapped but will not be in the future. So a shorter grommet, yes?

Thanks,

If this is not a correct post please let me know.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by needing brass grommets for large badge Slingerland drums. Can you supply a picture? Also, keep in mind that this tool is made specifically for the installation of the Slingerland aluminum grommets and won't work with other grommets.
