Slingerland Radio King value

Loading...

From verminator

I have an opportunity to purchase this kit for $850. It is an early to mid 50's Radio King. The sizes are 22, 13 and 16. The wrap is original but has severe sun fading and has a couple of small cracks. The bass drum is virgin which I find odd. The interiors look great and the shells are in round (or so I am told). The inlays on the bass drum hoops are replacements. It seems to me that half of the value of these Radio King kits are the snare drum which this does not have. Is $850 a decent price?

Sounds like an extremely good deal to me. If the description reflects the true condition of the drums, I'd grab them without hesitation. They usually sound wonderful, and record well. Good luck.

Go get it. I got a 1951 for $850. My bass drum is has spurs and cymbal mounts but the tom is hoop mounted. My floor tom has a wood hoop on the bottom and the head shows beater wear. Cool vintage drums.
