I'm not sure how familiar people may be of this, but the Sam Ash chain a few years ago introduced a vintage drum shop based out of their Philadelphia store. All the vintage drums in their stock nationally were relocated to that store. I worked in that store for a year and a half, so I was working with, working on, and working around this vintage gear non-stop. I restored my first Slingerland at 16, though it was a full re-wrap.

Please don't hold my pervious association with the Sam Ash corp. against me! I dislike them as much as you all do, trust me. :p

No, they stopped a little while back. The company has been going more and more corporate and getting worse and worse as a whole, from personal experiance, that is. One of their decisions along the way was to discontinue that whole thing and they just laid off the guy who was running it.

On a more positive note, I do believe my first restoration tangerine glass glitter Slingerland kit is floating somewhere around the globe right now, haha!
