Slingerland Radio King Head Combo

I was wondering what head combinations everyone is using on their RK's. I am currently using a Remo amb. over amb. hazy. I want to dry out and focus the sound somewhat. It has a "tubbiness" to it at most tunings and I can't figure it out. I have retro-fitted some wood hoops which have helped. I am considering trying a Remo Controlled Sound, Powerstroke 3, or Emperor head on top.

The other funny thing is that, in it's current state, 1/8th of a piece of moongel at its edge is too much dampening and the sound becomes dead. With the brass hoops I used a 1/2 piece of moongel to acheive the sound I am looking for. The wood hoops sound too good to give up, though ;)...it's like getting hit in the face with a 2x4 with every rimshot! Cross-sticking ain't bad either, haha.

Any advice?

On my Cloud Badges I'm using Aquarian American Vintage - Med on Top, Thin on the Bottom, and they sound great.
