Slingerland "Bop" Kit...

From Dan Boucher

Thanks for the info on PSA wrap. I'm glad it had no reference to the other PSA (prostate specific antigen)I'd never heard of it. What is the source and is it applied with contact cement, as with other wraps, or is it a taped joint type application?

:) Yes, this PSA is quite a bit different from what you mentioned...

In this case "PSA" stands for "Pressure Sensitive Adhesive." That means the entire "under" side of the veneer is covered with a 3M peel-n-stick type of adhesive, which adheres the veneer to the service the drum without the use of contact cement or seam tape.

This is the third kit I've covered with this stuff. A Ludwig Rockers that previously had a taped on PVC wrap; a 60s MIJ also with a taped on wrap, and this kit which was glued-on COW. I cannot tell that it has hindered the resonance of any of them.

I will be doing more sets in the future. I've got a lot of this wrap...

Great job!! I too have a Slingerland kit converted from marching drums in the same sizes as yours. I just love my little bop kit. It fits in the trunk of a Honda Civic.
