Slingerland Question

Loading...

I found this kit on cl, seller says no badges. What year did Slingerland not use badges? Also that second mounted tom looks like and older one, is that a Radio King? The kick has metal hoops and the mount on kick looks odd. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

No badges on toms till mid '66. Bass drum and snare (if Slingerland) should have badges. One rack tom is pre '55. There are extra holes in at least two drums.

Double tom holder is 60's Slingerland but may not be original to that bass.

Thanks, but how can you tell there are extra holes?

Btw, he's asking for $650 and that's a Pearl snare.

Look at the last picture carefully. Rack tom and bass drum. Possibly just black spots but look like holes. I suspect a rail consolette was once on the bass. Pictures can lie though.

Ya, I see what you're saying, the mounted tom definitely looks like a hole, but the floor looks more like a black smudge. What do you think of his price?

I think it is high.

I'll state the age old opinion, Slingerland drums are the best deal out there! Great drums but just don't bring the cash like the other vintage kits.

I sold a really nice 20, 12, 14 in WMP for $750, and was happy to get that! They were 62 bass and 64 toms, no extra holes.

I wouldn't go over $300 for that kit. But thats just me.

The metal hoops on the bass drum aren't factory either, Mark, I'd pass on this one.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!
