Slingerland Possible Find

Loading...

I saw a Slingerland 14x14, 14x20 and a couple no name toms in a red satin flame finish at Sam Ash. The finish on both Slingerlands are in decent shape, floor has original hoops and no extra holes, dated 1966. The kick has a Pearl double tom mount and metal hoops, also dated 1966. The other toms are basically firewood. They were asking $200 for everything. I thought it might be worth picking up and finding a matching 8x12 tom. Thoughts?

I would say the floor tom is worth the price and more, go get them!

Thank you!

I'd have to agree.

Clean, old 14x14's are not growing on trees!

I think there are some red satin flame orphans in the attic of my favorite pawn shop. I’ll take a look this week and let you know.

Not a Guru... just interested..

Here's the kit, I know where I can get an 8x12 Slingerland tom in a black sparkle finish. I believe they'll let it go for $100. So, I'll need to decide whether to just re-wrap it or do all three drums in a sparkle wrap.

Why wouldn't you play it the way it is until a tom a bass in nice shape show up for the 14x14?

I know where I can find a Slingerland tom. I'm not going to put too much time or money into this project, I'll probably just re-wrap the 12 to match the floor and kick.
