It's my understanding that Slingerland only produced these for about 3 years in the very early 70's to get in on the acrylic craze but discontinued them because of mediocre sales. Mine are serial #'d in the 102xxx range.

There was a vintage clear acrylic "Slingerland" kit advertised on my local CL last year, the pics were dark and blurry, but it looked to me like a Phantom. When I got there and checked it out, the only things Slingerland were the snare stand and one of the tom heads. Turned out to be a MIJ Star kit instead...a bit of a let down, but the price was right, so I bought it anyway. I spent last summer refurbishing it, and it has turned out to be a great kit in it's own right...not Phantom cool, but a nice consolation prize.

Late '72 - '75 according to Dr CJ Wenk. Your serials suggest the earlier end of that time frame. Seems too early for the Super Set-O-Matic tom mount. Did you add that? It most certainly works better.
