Question for the Slingerland guys:

What is the correct ride tom mount for an early 70's set (from charts on the Vintage Drum Guide looks to be 70-1/2 to 72 with serial numbers around 876xx to 895xx), setomatic equipped? I believe it should be chrome with a wing screw, but I see aluminum ones with wing screws and with key rods, and chrome ones with both too. Is there any sense that the use of the various styles was like that of the badges, where you could have gotten either during that era depending on who reached into what bin or box?

Chrome with a key rod I believe.

The raw aluminum ones were only used when introduced in 67 until maybe early 68 until they ran out. Im sure there is a semi large cross over there when the chrome ones came in.

70's certainly were all chrome and should have one screw with a flat head and one with a key rod for adjustment. Same no matter if it is a single or a double mount.

Thats my experience and I have owned about 8-10 Slingy kits from that era.

So I guess I'm all setomatic (all pun intended) with wing screw on the chrome bass drum mount and key rod on the chrome tom mount.

If it was a single tom set up the tom would have a wing screw
