Slingerland old one!

Loading...

This is an old Slingerland drum and I'd like to have some information on it. It's a 6.5 x 14, maple shell with the maple inner hoops. Nickel plated hardware. White marine cover. The tension rods thread directly into the lugs...no nuts!

Looks as though it's a Broadcaster snare circa 1935-6. Strange it doesn't have the snare brackets....

Is the top hoop signed??

Vadrums has the same idea as me. The tone control would indicate a Broadcaster (pre-Radio King). They usually have "Broadcaster" on the top hoop.

Do the lugs have inserts or do the tension rods go right in?

Slingerland's Buddy Rich model Radio King had no snare bridges, but I'm guessing this would pre-date that.

The bottom hoop looks like a Leedy, but who knows.

Great drum.

Hopefully the Dr will have some more information.

DrCJW,

He is like Mr. Wizard when it comes to Slingerland stuff. Now you're going to ask me who Mr. Wizard is, aren't you? LOL! Rest assured, you will get your answer.

YEOW !!!! What a great one.

I agree...unusual details or lack thereof...as mentioned above...but then again, Slingy DID do custom-request builds....[/COLOR]
