Hello VintageDrumForum people, I am new to the website and thought Id start off with a few questions regarding a new (old)drum I bought a couple days ago.

Last weekend very spontaneously I bought a fairly old Slingerland marching snare drum, it is a chrome over wood snare, 15" in diameter, the badge claims it to be from the Niles factory.

Some holes have been drilled in the body to accomodate a ludwig throwoff. I was wondering if anybody had any estimates on what it would cost put the original Cat Gut wires on as well as where to look for the necessary parts.

P.S. The guy at the shop I bought the drum at estimated that it was from some time during the eighties. Also, I have called around my town and nobody had any advice on where to find these parts, except for "on the internet", so, here I am!
