My thinking on taking less for the Black Slingy's and removing the hardware from the original deal, is that I can actually get more for the hardware separately on Ebay than if i just included them with the kit. I originally added the hardware after mc here suggested it, in order to spice up the deal and try to get my top price. But since doing that did not do me any good, i'm back to just selling the drums and lowering the price of the drums. I can make up the difference later. Now, if someone was going to offer me say $1500 for the drums AND the hardware, i'd do it. I'm also taking into consideration that it is a buyers market right now and sometimes concessions have to be made if its a priority to get the cash.

A complete kit with hardware will almost always net more money than the alternative. The problem here is you still have an unrealistic expectation for the value of your kit. I believe you started off at $2000.00, plus $300.00 shipping.

I made the comment, "I'm not sure you'll get that amount, but it is a nice kit." I also stated that adding the stands would "really make this more attractive at that price point".

This kit will not approach the $2000.00 mark, with or without hardware. That's been the issue the whole time. The first run on the kit went to $810.00, plus your shipping charges. That's actually pretty much in line with the current market. You may get up to $1000.00 on a good day.

I sincerely believe that the $1800.00, plus $300.00 shipping, is still too high.

You took away some of the features while dropping the price only $200.00 ... keeping in mind that the first run WITH all of the features only hit $800.00.

Your path of logic concludes that your kit with less features is worth $1000.00 more than the last auction stated.

That makes no sense.

Just postage should be around $140 or less.

If your ad reads $150 shipping, no one would find that unreasonable, and whether or not that's what it costs you to pack and ship it, the buyer wouldn't be off-put by what seems to be a high shipping price.

I have refused to bid on items that I felt had unreasonably high shipping costs attached, even though I would have loved to have won the item.

Your advice here is well taken IF I had lowered the price of the kit to "only" $1800. That's what I was saying I would take here on this site (doesn't mean i wouldn't take less than that either.) But on Ebay, the $1800 is NOT my reserve price. It's lower than that. Obviously i can't say what it is, but I agree with your logic, both of you.
