Slingerland Junior Boy Scout Marching Drum

Loading...

Found this on eBay and couldn't resist! Arrived yesterday and it's in wonderful condition. I'm going to leave the drum as-is, because it's very clean and I don't want to put any curse on the mojo of this drum!

Some research at vintagedrumguide shows this as catalog number 615, beginning in 1928 as the Junior Boy Scout marching drum. By the 1936 catalog, it was called the Cub Parade Drum.

No mention of the optional Eagle decal until 1936, but may have shown in the earlier catalogs.

Original calf heads that have molded themselves to the shell and maple counterhoops. Very cool! The nickle-plated hardware is in really great condition! A wonderful addition to my snare drum collection!

Enjoy!

Mark

I'm a sucker for light hoops and a dark wood grain shell.

Very nice piece.
