Can somebody please "enlighten me" as to what the "-020" stands for on the Slingerland stamps found on the interior shells of their drums next to the P or M?
Thanks!

The wrap color, maybe?
I think I remember Mikey saying that, I'm not 100% on that, though.

The -020- stands for the color of the drum to be finished in.If stamp "P" -020- if i recall that was W.M.P...if the drum has a "M" stamp-020- that stands for mahogany finish on the drum..Mikey
kevins: Thanks!
MIKEY777: Thanks! I was informed that the "P" stamp reflects a pearl wrap and that an "M" stamp reflects a natural maple or mahogany finish on the exterior shell. If that is, in fact, correct I don't understand why any "M" stamp would have any numbers following it. I also don't recall seeing any numbers other than the "-020'" following a "P" stamp on any shells. That would be kind of strange, wouldn't it?
Just as wild azz guess here but would it pertain to oversize/undersize shell size to factory specs? Like -.020" undersize?? I don't know the first thing about drum making or production but maybe there was some small variance in shell size if the shell was to be wrapped? Or possibly each wrap color had a number code for production?
I remeber seeing somewhere where it was noted on the drum interior as ".020", which might correspond with an undersized shell that was to be used fror wrap as opposed to a natural finish.
